1. Application and Agreement
These terms govern use of Happy Pocket: Family Budget (the “App”), provided by ナープ株式会社 (“we”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. Any applicable app-store terms also apply.
2. License
Subject to these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable right to use the App for personal and lawful purposes.
3. Fees
The first public release is free. It has no subscription, paid download, in-app purchase, paid feature, donation, or sponsorship facility. You are responsible for the costs of internet access, devices, communications, and other third-party services.
The App has no general age restriction. Minors should use it with a parent or other legal guardian’s guidance or consent where appropriate. The App is not offered specifically as a service for children.
4. Your Data and Backups
The App is local-first, and plaintext financial data is generally stored on your device. You are responsible for protecting your device, credentials, recovery materials, and any backup you choose to create. Because of the zero-knowledge design, we cannot recover lost encryption keys, PINs, recovery materials, or plaintext financial data.
When you use family sync, data you choose to share is encrypted on-device before being relayed. You are responsible for family-group invitations, your sharing choices, and the handling of recovery materials.
5. External Services
The App uses external services to retrieve exchange rates, provide operating-system speech recognition when you permit it, and relay family-sync data. Each provider’s terms govern the availability, suspension, or change of its service, and we do not guarantee continued availability. The first public release does not use push notifications.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- violate law, public policy, or third-party rights;
- interfere with the App, relay service, security controls, or other users;
- gain unauthorized access, impersonate another person, obtain invitation codes improperly, or place an excessive load on the service;
- reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute the App beyond what applicable law permits; or
- use the App for unlawful, deceptive, or harmful purposes.
7. Changes and Suspension
We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the App or its online features for maintenance, security, legal compliance, outages, or other reasonable grounds. Where reasonably possible, material changes will be announced in the App or on the official website.
8. Warranties
The App is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant fitness for a particular purpose, completeness, accuracy, continuity, or error-free operation. The App does not provide professional accounting, tax, legal, or investment advice.
9. Liability
Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, or where liability cannot lawfully be limited, we are not liable for indirect, special, consequential, lost-profit, or data-loss damages arising from use or inability to use the App. For ordinary negligence, we remain responsible for ordinary and direct damages to the extent required by applicable law. Nothing in this section limits rights under Japan’s Consumer Contract Act or other mandatory law.
10. Intellectual Property and Open Source
Rights in the App, trademarks, text, images, and other content belong to us or their lawful owners. Source code released as open source and third-party libraries are governed by their stated licenses.
11. Governing Law, Venue, Changes, and Contact
These terms are governed by Japanese law. Unless applicable law permits another venue, the Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for disputes concerning the App.
We may revise these terms when needed and will announce material changes in the App or on the official website. The current terms are available at https://happypocket.app/en/terms.
